In the 1950's John Jewett Garland described this photo: William May Garland seated in front of 815 W Adams St at the wheel of his new 1906 model Pierce Arrow - 4 cylinder, 48 horse power equipped with 2 tops, Victoria and Limousine. Color combination was a fire alarm red set off with canary yellow wheels. All the metal work was brass and the car was popularly known as the "Gee-Whiz!"
