Though for him, it has errors. The vital record of his death in Jan 1705/6 says he is "upwards of 91", so born prior to 1615 - could have been earlier since we don't know exact age. The year of death on this stone is wrong, but the 91 years, combined with him being born in England, makes it very likely this is who is meant to be memorialized when it was made in the 1800s.
Also, the second Maurice on the stone is his son, and the third is his great grandson.

Since Captain Samuel Ayer's mother is Elizabeth (Palmer) Ayer, she died 3 years before her son and the styling is identical, it certainly seems probable that he was buried next to her and that this is her stone.

A local researcher, Dorothea Greer pursued this matter and found "Historical Collections of Harrison County" by Charles Hanna which says: "Lee S. Burton, d. May 27, 1882; 73y." She sent a copy of the tombstone, and though not entirely clear, it's obvious the latter citation is the correct one, and commented "I could not find a stone for Lee S. Burton. I looked on the other side of Ellen Burton's stone. ... looked more ornate ...chalked the stone ... completely surprised when I saw the Burton name show up ... the stone matches what is in Charles Hanna's reading. ... I could really see why our readers missed this stone completely. I think they read Hannah's stone as Lee S. Burton's stone because of the inscription, wife of Lee S Burton".

The birth year is probably wrong and s/b 1763, because otherwise he would not have been old enough for the Rev War. His son stated "His mortal remains were, by his own request, interred on a small mound, on the prairie (his own land), just west of what was then the village of Fort Wayne. This sacred spot is marked by a small oak tree, still standing - but in consequence of the construction of the Wabash and Erie Canal, in 1833, which passed very near to this spot, my brother (Wm. G. Ewing) and myself, thought it an unfit place for the final reposing of the remains of our father; so, in 1847, we erected a vault, known as the 'Ewing Vault', situated in the public grave yard immediately south of the 'Ewing addition' to Fort Wayne, and there we caused to be deposited our father's mortal remains - enclosed in a zink [sic] coffin." (goes on to say the rest of people buried there).
