Marriage*22 January 1772Rachel Ellis married Daniel Fish on 22 January 1772 at New York City, New York Co., New York, "by license" The marriage bond calls her "Rachel Ellis of New York City, spinster" and was witnessed by Daniel Fish of New London and Ellias Burger of New York City, mariner. Daniel may have belonged to the large Fish family of New Londo, CT.1 
Marriage*17 April 1785Rachel Ellis married John Cooder on 17 April 1785 at Christ Church (German Lutheran), Manhattan, New York Co., New York, proved by will of her father & 1 Apr 1800 NJ deed, plus letter 29 Oct 1988 from Judith Miner Hine Luedemann says that Harry Macy Jr (Assoc Ed) wrote that he has been transcribing the register of Christ Church (German Lutheran) Manhattan for publication in the Record. That he found the following marriage
     "17 April 1785: After due Proclomation John Gooder widower and Rachel Fish widow, born Allis. Evidences (Witnesses) Mr. Christopher Eninger, Georg Reisser, etc."
     Judith goes on to say that Harry also wrote that the NYG&B and the American Bible Society are cooperating on a project, and he found an old Ryerson Bible, which gave the dates of birth on some of George's children. The data will be published "next October", the issue in which Additions and Corrections are published annually. That entry was in Oct 1988 - vol 119 SLC 974.7 B2n. The only difference is that it has a footnote after "born Allis" then goes on to say "wits. Mr. Christopher" etc. this versus Evidences (Witnesses) above.
     The footnote says "This is the previously undiscovered marriage of John Cooder and Rachel (Ellis) Fish, the bride being the daughter of Samuel Ellis of Ellis Island (Rec. 119:158). 
Marriage*between 1800 and 1806Rachel Ellis married William Kingsland between 1800 and 1806 at New York City, New York Co., New York, after 1 Apr 1800, before 24 Dec 1806.1 
Deed*1 April 1800 On 1 April 1800 Rachel Cooder, widow of John Cooder and daughter of Samuel Ellis, deceased, of the county of Bergen, granted to John Fish, son of the said Rachel, "for and in consideraton of the natural love and affecton which she hath and beareth unto the said John Fish, [and for] one dollar[,] all those several tracts ... in Bergen County [and] near Newburgh "adjoining the North River, which were given and devised to the said Rachel by the last will of Samuel Ellis..." Rachel made her mark. Following the deed is this entry: "This is to certify that John Fish his Heirs and assigns are obligated to give his mother maintenance if she required it."1 
Death*after 10 November 1809Rachel Ellis died after 10 November 1809 at Bulls Ferry, Bergen Co., New Jersey.
