Story*[Andrew Note] Commemorative Biographical Record of Harrison OH, Beers 1891 (SLC
971.168 D3c) has a bio on his son that tells more about him. Andrew ... was a native
of Berks County, Penn., and when he was a few years old his father died. He was
a hatter by trade, but at the age of forty commenced farming. In the city of Philadelphia
he had marriedn, in 1800, Miss Sarah Bettle, a native of Philadelphia, and, in
1802, they came to where now stands Cadiz, where the subject of this sketch was
born. They had a family of three sons and three daughters, all of whom died in
early life, excepting Cyrus, who passed... In 1852 the mother died, when in her
eightieth year, a Presbyterian in relition, though born a Quaker, and in 1858 the
father followed her to the grave at the age of eighty-six. In politics he was a
Whig and afterward a Republican, was for four years a member of the Ohio Legislature,
and for twenty years was a justice of the peace in Cadiz.
