Birth*1758 John Critchfield (RevWar Patriot) was born 1758 Date and place of birth not shown in pension. Some places say Delaware, but Stephen Wood says "John Critchfield never lived in Delaware. Because all vital records for Delaware were burned during wars, and so when genealogists couldn’t find an ancestor’s origin, they said he lived in Delaware because no one could prove otherwise."4 
He was the son of Nathaniel Critchfield Sr and (__________) (__________).1 
Military*between 1777 and 1781John Critchfield (RevWar Patriot) was in the military: between 1777 and 1781 per Rev War Pension S42144, he was a private in Capt. George Rice's Co., Col. Daniel Morgan's VA Regiment. Served at battles of Brandywine, Monmouth, Stony Point, & Paulus Hook. enlisted in VA 2 Mar 1777, discharged Feb of 1781 or 1782. 
Marriage*1785He married Rachel Shrimplin, daughter of John Shrimplin and Honour (__________), in 1785 at .2

He applied for Rev War Pension S42144 on 8 Jan 1821 as resident of Wayne Co OH, aged about 60 years. He stated that his wife, Rachel, was also about 60 and they lived with their sons Enoch & Asa. 
Relative1837In Nathaniel's pension, he states that he is brother to John and that John lives in Holmes Co OH. 
Death*1851He died in 1851 at Nashville, Holmes Co., Ohio.
