Mrs. Quimby, One of the Mothers of Israel Died at the Home of Chas. Ramsey Last Night.
Mrs. S. A. Quinby, who has been in feeble health for many months, was relieved from suffering on April 24th, and just as the evening was passing into night, she was borne by Angels to her Eternal home. The messengers came so gently and tenderly into the home, that it did not seem like death, when the passing came; but just the summons to "Come up highter," and the ready, happy, glad response; and then the "Well done good, and faithful servant," and an "abundant entrance into the joys of our Lord." Harriet Sophronia Woodworth was born Dec. 10, 1822, at Chelsea, Vt., having more than reached her "three score years and ten." Hers was not only a well rounded life, but a life lovingly helpful, and beautifully Christian. In her young womanhood she gave her hand in marriage to S. A. Quimby, Sept. 17, 1845. It was an ideal union, a "holy wedlock." Ten years after the wedding day, the home was moved to Floyd, Ia., and the new west gained the blessing of a Christian home. In 1892, another move was made to Mason City, when for more than ten years her life has expended its fragrance in the love sheltered hom of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Ramsey. It was heaven for her to live, it was blessed for her to die. She has left six children with the sweet dower of her love and the legacy of her bright, happy, victorious Christian experience. Mrs. L. A. Rice, Clear Lake; A. O. Quimby, Fresno, Cal, C. M. Quimby, Elma, Ia; Miss H. L. Woodruff, Lorain, Ohio; Mrs. D. W. Vroom, and Mrs. C. E. Ramsey, Mason City. Long before she united with the church she had given her heart in a loving surrender to her Lord, and lived a consecrated Christian life. Since residing here she has been an honored and worthy member of the Congregational church, where she will long be remembered and sadly misseed. Funeral services will be held at her late home, Mr. C. E. Ramsey's on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.2
Burial*27 April 1903She was buried on 27 April 1903 at Elmwood-St Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Cerro Gordo Co., Iowa, Record of interments - Block 2 of 2nd Addition, Lot 7, #2. Buried 27 Apr 1903. Lot owned by S.A. Quinby, but burial shown as Mrs A.O. Quimby. Record of Interments shows Mrs H. Quinby internment 1 age 80 female widow died of heart disease, U.E. Randall undertaker (that's now Major Erickson Funeral Home).

To-Do*19 January 2006Need to prove that Harriet is the daughter of Urial. The History of Floyd Co IA only says she is "a native of that place" (being Chelsea Orange Co. VT) and does not give her father's name. DAR "unsuccessfully searched for birth records" in the available VT vitals.
Comfort Allen is in Chelsea in 1820 almost next to Isaac and Uriah (s/b Urial) Woodworth. Isaac & Uriah are the only Woodworths in Chelsea. There is a Benjamin in Randolph and a Lyman in Strafford but those are the only Woodworths in Orange Co VT on 19 January 2006.
