CAUTION*There is the following CAUTIONARY INFORMATION for Miriam Rust: No definitive proof that Miriam Rust is the Miriam who married Henry Snow, though circumstancial evidence lends credence to the theory. In trying to prove that the wife of Henry Snow is Miriam Rust, dau of Nathaniel & Miriam Andrews Rust, here is the circumstantial evidence:
1906 source, History of Plymouth NH (Stearns) says:
He married about 1750 Miriam ___ but I have not found a record of the marriage. Says births of 5 of the children are to be found in Hudson (formerly Nottingham West).
1907 source, History of the family of Benjamin Snow (Wilcox) seems to have been taken from that, and expounded on:
He married about 1750 Miriam Frost, a widow, but no record of the marriage is extant. He also says the children are to be found in Hudson.
The probable source of his saying this is from a quote on pg 3 - a copy of Memo by J. Milton Snow, Alpine Cal (but not dated):
Henry married a widow whose first husband's name was Frost and whose maiden name was Russt (sic).
The memo is a result of the author trying to provide "traditional knowledge". The J Milton Snow, whose memo is quoted, is the great grandson of Henry and Miriam, through their son Benjamin (per Ancestral File, John Milton Snow is AFN: 1BNF-2P8). He was born in 1830, 60 years after Henry died, but other things that J Milton remembers can be proved, so his memory has credence. Especially since he misspelled Rust as Russt.
This, along with the Frost references, and naming daughter Rebecca Bayley in her will, seems to provide proof that Henry's wife is Miriam Rust.
