Before me Tho. Cookson At http://maley.net/transcription/ there is a transcription of the Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, containing Sketches of Prominent and Representative Citizens, and Many of the Early Scotch-Irish and German Settlers. 1896. The running title throughout the transcription is Historical Review of Dauphin County and it is Transcribed by Robert Demy for The Dauphin County, Pennsylvania Geneaology Transcription Project, done on 16 Oct 2000 On http://maley.net/transcription/BioEncyl/BEChapter6contd2.htm it says: Montgomery, Robert, of Paxtang, d. in October, 1748, leaving a wife Elizabeth, and children: John, Jean, m. James Tolan; son-in-law George Clark, and grandchild Robert, son of John. Abstracts of Lancaster Co, PA, Wills, 1732 - 1785 Author: F. Edward Wright at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/_glc_/7269/7269_95.html also shows: October 6, 1748 November 15, 1748 MOUNTGOMERY, ROBERT Wife. Elizabeth Mountgomery. Children: John and Jean wife of James Tolan. Son-in-law: George Clark (wife's name not given). Grandchild: Robert Mountgomery (son of John). The executors were John McKinny and Daniel Shields. Do not mix this up this entry with another Robert shown, who died in 1776, who is probably the grandson mentioned in the will of the Robert who d in 1748. On http://maley.net/transcription/BioEncyl/BEChapter6contd.htm[EMAIL:] [:EMAIL]it says: Montgomery, Robert, of Paxtang, d. February, 1776, leaving a wife Sarah, and children: Mary, John, Hugh, David, and Elizabeth. Executors were wife Sarah, Hugh Montgomery, and John Gallagher. My thanks to a researcher who prefers her name not to show, for the leads. |
